OGDEN — Rocky Mountain Power crews are replacing a power pole in Ogden Canyon and need to have state Route 39 through Ogden Canyon closed Saturday from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting.

The pole needs to be replaced before winter storms cause its failure and a serious power outage. Crews will replace it with a large crane. Due to the narrowness of S.R. 39, the crane will block the entire road.

The closure is at milepost 8.6, at the mouth of the canyon, and ends at milepost 13.8, at the Pineview Reservoir Dam and the junction of S.R. 155. During the closure, Ogden Valley can be accessed from S.R. 167, the Trappers Loop Highway, via I-84, exit 92 in Weber Canyon.
