Sad science

I concur with Ed Gomer regarding the sad state of scientific standards (Readers' Forum, Nov. 14). Three weeks ago I learned of a Stanford University study by Jockers et al., published in a peer-reviewed journal, which claims Sidney Rigdon wrote the Book of Mormon. I wrote a response to the paper, which I posted on my blog at RyanLarsen.blogspot.com. My response has been talked about on other online forums, but the only criticism levied against my response is that it is not published in a peer-reviewed journal and should therefore be dismissed!
