Tuesday on TV

NCIS (7 p.m., Ch. 2): A lieutenant's death is connected to a citywide blackout.

V (7 p.m., Ch. 4): The aliens are granted visas to enter the United States.

Merry Madagascar (7 p.m., Ch. 5): This new animated holiday special is a sequel of sorts to the "Madagascar" movies. The animals have to take over for Santa when a sleigh accident leaves Mr. Claus with amnesia.

Nova (7 p.m., Ch. 7): This episode of "Becoming Human" looks at the extinction of Neanderthals and how humans became creative.

So You Think You Can Dance (7 p.m., Ch. 13): The remaining contestants perform. And perhaps this week, judge/executive producer Nigel Lythgoe will behave. Last week, he got a bit full of himself, telling members of the audience to "shut up." These would be the people he invited into the studio to do just what they did — cheer and boo. Lythgoe's behavior was the equivalent of inviting people into your living room to have a conversation and then telling them to shut up when they started to talk. Not cool. Nigel, you don't have to try to be Simon Cowell. One Simon is more than enough.

The Biggest Loser (7:30 p.m., Ch. 5): Fashion guru Tim Gunn and hair stylist Tabatha Coffey give the remaining contestants makeovers.

NCIS (8 p.m., Ch. 2): A murder investigation leads to stolen missiles.

Dancing With the Stars (8:01 p.m., Ch. 4): Another couple is eliminated.

Melrose Place (8 p.m., Ch. 30): She's ba-ack! Heather Locklear returns to "Melrose Place" as the ever-entertaining Amanda Woodward. And she marks her return by firing half the staff at WPK.

The Good Wife (9 p.m., Ch. 2): Alicia has to decide whether she wants Peter to get out of prison — and if she'll let him back into her life.

The Forgotten (9:01 p.m., Ch. 4): A Jane Doe is found strangled to death in a warehouse.

Frontline (9 p.m., Ch. 7): A look at the recent Iranian presidential election, including charges of fraud and massive protests.

Independent Lens (11 p.m., Ch. 7): James Chressanthis' documentary "No Subtitles Necessary: Laszlo and Vilmos" profiles Laszlo Kovacs and Vilmos Zsigmond. As film students in Hungary, they shot footage of the 1956 Soviet invasion and risked their lives to smuggle it out of the country. They went to Hollywood, where — after starting in low-budget horror films — they went on to huge success with films like "Easy Rider," "Five Easy Pieces," "Deliverance" and "Paper Moon."

Sons of Anarchy (11 p.m., FX): Chibs makes a secret deal with Agent Stahl.
