Allegations about teachers keep police, district officials busy
Roy Junior High School wood shop teacher Kenneth William Taylor, 46, was charged Oct. 15 with six counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a 16- or 17-year-old, all third-degree felonies. He allegedly developed a relationship with the girl when she was 14, which turned sexual when she was 16.
The Ogden Police Department has completed its investigation into allegations against an Ogden High School teacher. While police said they found no evidence of criminal activity, they did uncover "inappropriate relationships" between the teacher and at least six female students stretching back to 2000. The teacher was placed on administrative leave Oct. 13 by Ogden School District, which is still conducting its own investigation into his relationship with a former student who is now an adult. The teacher, whose name is not being released by the district or by police, has taught in Ogden for about 14 years.
Washington School District's Douglas Bullock, a 42-year-old teacher at Bloomington Hills Elementary School in St. George, was charged Aug. 28 with 12 counts of rape, all third-degree felonies. Police allege the St. George man was having sex with a 17-year-old boy, a relationship that officers say appeared to be consensual. Bullock was placed on administrative leave. Washington School District officials said they do not believe any elementary school students were involved in his alleged misconduct.
Carbon County prosecutors charged Melissa Ann Andreini, 28, with unlawful sexual conduct with a minor Aug. 17. A former special-education teacher at Helper Junior High School, Andreini allegedly engaged in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student. Investigators say she paid the victim up to $1,400 following the sexual encounters. The victim, who was not Andreini's student, told investigators he had sex with the teacher three times at her home near the school.
