With 3 minutes remaining, BYU leading by five, New Mexico had first-and-10 at the Cougar 48 when the BYU defensive lineman sacked Lobo QB Donovan Porterie for a 7-yard loss.

BYU safety Andrew Rich recorded a game-high 12 tackles, including one sack and one tackle for loss. Rich also blocked a 46-yard field goal attempt at the end of the first half.
CALL OF THE GAME
On UNM's final drive, BYU safety Scott Johnson was whistled for a 15-yard personal foul for a hit on UNM wide receiver Bryan Williams on an incompletion, giving the Lobos the ball in BYU territory.
