No Fun League

Chad Ochocinco's pretend $1 bribe is going to cost him a lot more.

The Cincinnati Bengals receiver says he has been fined $20,000 for taking a dollar bill onto the field during an officials' review of one of his catches during a 17-7 win over Baltimore on Sunday. Ochocinco held the dollar in his right hand at his side but didn't give it to the official, who motioned for him to stay away.

Ochocinco was obviously joking during the incident, but joking and wearing your socks at the wrong length are not tolerated in the No Fun League.

Cutler fined

Throwing five interceptions against the 49ers on Thursday wasn't even the worst part of Jay Cutler's week.

The NFL fined the Bears quarterback $20,000 for abusive conduct toward an official during Sunday's 41-21 loss to the Cardinals.

Cutler argued with an official because he thought tight end Greg Olsen was held on a third-quarter pass play.

Cutler would have been out a lot less money if he threw a punch at an opposing player, as Tommie Harris was fined $7,500 for punching an opponent in that game.

Mangini argues

Browns coach Eric Mangini has defended his practices after running back Jamal Lewis said Cleveland's players are being worked too hard.

Lewis complained that Mangini was wearing out his players during the week and they had nothing left by Sunday. Mangini says his practice methods are not any longer or more physical than ones he's conducted in the past.

Lewis' comments came before Browns practice squad player Keith Grennan sustained a serious knee injury during a post-practice "opportunity period."

No excuses

Rex Ryan doesn't want to hear excuses anymore for the New York Jets' mediocre start.

While the Jets are 4-4, they have lost four of their last five games and face a crucial match-up against the Jaguars that some were calling a "must-win" game.

New York's last three losses have come by a total of 12 points, but Ryan said the Jets just need to "find ways to win."

He also knows his decision to give the players six days off for the bye will be criticized or praised depending on how the team performs today.
