WASHINGTON TERRACE — The 24th annual Thanksgiving Day Run/Walk for Charity is Nov. 26 at Ogden Regional Medical Center, 5475 S. 500 East.

Events begin at 7:15 a.m. with a celebration Mass in the Education Center at the hospital.

Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. At 9 a.m., the five-mile run or two-mile walk will start in the hospital's west parking lot. Preregistration forms can be picked up at Ogden Regional through Nov. 25 or downloaded online at www.ogdenregional.com.

Entry fees consist of any donation of nonperishable foods, goods or monetary contributions. All donations will support the Ogden Rescue Mission, St. Anne's Center and the Salvation Army of Ogden. Checks should be made payable to the Newman Center.

"We have so many people in our community in need right now." said Sister Stephanie Mongeon, director of mission and community relations at Ogden Regional.

"Our Thanksgiving run and walk was established to help to reach out and help these people," she said.

In 2008, more than 1,100 people participated in the event, which raised just more than $5,000 and three pickup truck beds full of food and goods.
