Utah Jazz: Williams will miss tonight's game, too
CLEVELAND — Jazz point guard Deron Williams did not travel to Cleveland for tonight's game against the Cavaliers here.
He remains in Utah, still tending to a family medical matter involving one of his two young daughters.
It remains uncertain if Williams will play at home against Toronto on Wednesday night, when the Jazz have their first game following a four-stop Eastern road trip that concludes tonight against LeBron James and the Cavs.
"I will return to the court as soon as possible," Williams said in a statement issued Friday night, after he flew from Philadelphia to Salt Lake City to be with his family.
Usual backup Ronnie Price will miss a third straight game tonight due to his sprained left big toe, so rookie Eric Maynor will make his second straight NBA start.
Maynor recorded his first NBA double-double in Friday's victory over the 76ers.
Rookie Wesley Matthews is scheduled to start tonight as well, just as he did in Friday in Philadelphia.
