Westminster campus briefs
WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Lewiston, Idaho, Sara Brunner and Jamie Elenbaas combined for 30 kills to help Rocky Mountain College sweep Westminster College in match two of the Holiday Inn Express Frontier Conference Volleyball Tournament on Friday afternoon at the Lewis-Clark State College Activity Center. The fourth-seeded Bears knocked off the fifth-seeded Griffins 25-19, 25-18, 25-21.
"I thought we hit pretty well," said RMC coach Laurie Kelly. "Our outsides did a great job-they couldn't stop our outside hitters."
Brunner, a 5-foot-9 sophomore, used a .389 hitting percentage to collect 16 kills, while Elenbaas, a 5-10 freshman, hit .314 and finished with 14 kills.
"Rocky Mountain is a great team and its outsides are very good," Westminster coach Kim Norman said. "They just bust the ball at you."
As a team the Bears hit .272, while the Griffins hit .155. Westminster ends its season with a record of 9-20.
With the win Rocky improves to 20-10 and advances to the semifinals where it will face top-seeded Great Falls which defeated Montana Western 3-0 earlier in the day. The RMC-UGF match will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
