No. 22 BYU (7-2) at New Mexico (0-8)

About 50 degrees and mostly sunny at kickoff.

Today, noon - University Stadium

Grass - Albuquerque, N.M.

TV: Mtn. - Radio: 1160AM, 102.7 FM

THE STAKES

For BYU ... The Cougars are looking to complete a perfect record on the road this season and continue to build momentum leading up the regular-season finale against Utah.

For New Mexico ... The Lobos are still looking for their first victory of the season.

THE TRENDS

For BYU ... The Cougars haven't lost at New Mexico since 1997. Before that, they hadn't fallen to the Lobos in Albuquerque since 1980.

For New Mexico ... The Lobos haven't beaten a ranked team at home since downing No. 8 Utah in 1994. UNM owns a 4-19 record against ranked opponents at University Stadium.

THE EDGE

Story continues below

BYU will win if ... the offense gets off to a fast start like it did last week at Wyoming.

New Mexico will win if ... it forces a multitude of turnovers and somehow turns those into points.

PLAYER TO WATCH

Harvey Unga, BYU: While he's been limited this week in practice due to an ankle sprain, Unga needs only 71 yards to surpass Curtis Brown and become BYU's all-time leading rusher.

KEY MATCHUP

BYU TIGHT END DENNIS PITTA VS. NEW MEXICO LINEBACKER CARMEN MESSINA: Like opponents before them, it's likely that the Lobo defense will focus its attention on slowing down tight end Dennis Pitta. The man expected to be assigned to him will be Messina, who leads the nation in tackles.

INJURY REPORT

BYU: Running back Harvey Unga (ankle) and right tackle Nick Alletto (calf) are both expected to play.

New Mexico: Cornerback Nathan Enriquez (concussion) is questionable.

NEXT UP

BYU hosts Air Force next Saturday (1:30 p.m., The mtn./CBS-C). New Mexico entertains Colorado State next Saturday.
