Hazard for trucks

The Nov. 10 Deseret News reported the death of a pregnant woman who was a passenger in a semitrailer rollover crash at the onramp to eastbound I-84 from southbound I-15 in Weber County. The semi was carrying apples. A search of the Deseret News archives indicated at least three additional rollover accidents at the exact same spot involving semitrailers carrying apples. These accidents happened on March 16, 2006, and twice in December 1999. Four other accidents involving trucks carrying apples or produce were also mentioned on other Utah roads between 2002 and 2009.

Truckers need better training and UDOT needs to place a flashing sign on the I-84 onramp and at other sharp turns.
