MEN'S TENNIS: Another day at the Hawaii Invitational in Honolulu brought more wins for the BYU men's tennis team over athletes from UH. The Cougars improved on their first-round doubles finish, ending the day with victories in all four pairs matches. The team also tallied seven-of-eight singles matches for the second consecutive day.

Daniel Hwang and Roman Warias handily defeated their opponents 8-1 while Cassidy Mears and Thomas Shubert rebounded from Tuesday's loss with an 8-3 victory over Jeremy Tweedt and Craig Faulk. BYU tandem Spencer Smith and Evan Urbina were able to earn the win over Leo Rosenberg and Andreas Weber, 8-6. Georgy Batrakov and Ricardo Campos kept it close put slipped past their challengers 8-7 to complete the Cougar sweep.

In singles play, BYU turned in more commanding performances with six players notching straight-set victories. Batrakov won his first set 6-1 before falling 2-6 in the second. The sophomore eventually pulled out the three-set win, the Cougars' seventh on the day.

Andreas Weber was the only Warrior to record a win with a 6-3, 7-6 defeat of Evan Urbina.

The tournament will conclude Thursday at the UH Tennis Complex.
