BYU football: Cougar recruit turning heads
It's very unique that a high school player receive a full college scholarship because of an Internet video, but that's what happened to BYU-bound Collin Keoshian, who was featured in the Los Angeles Times.
Keoshain is a running back who plays eight-man football at tiny Santa Clarita Christian School in California.? He runs the forty in 4.58 seconds but because he plays in an obscure league and small school, his talents are not well-publicized.
But BYU offerred Keoshain a full scholarship this past year after viewing a highlight video on, an angle that attracted national attention through the L.A. Times.
Wrote the Times:? "Keoshian is worthy of the exception. A 6-foot-2, 235-pound senior who can bench press 355 pounds, Keoshian has rushed for more than 5,740 yards, scored 113 touchdowns and made 255 tackles during his four years at SCCS, leading the Cardinals last season to their only Southern Section championship.
"And he's not finished. Coming off a win over Canoga Park Faith Baptist, which had been the No. 2-ranked eight-man team in the state, Santa Clarita Christian is back in the playoffs this weekend, opening Saturday against Walnut Southlands Christian at a site and time to be determined."
