NEWARK, N.J. — Katey Turner scored her sixth goal in the last four games as Utah Valley defeated Houston Baptist, 1-0, in the inaugural Great West Conference Tournament Championship on Monday.

Turner, who was awarded the tournament MVP, finished with four goals and two assists in the three tournament games.

"I knew we had to be at our very best today for things to go our way," said UVU coach Brent Anderson.

Utah Valley finished the season 9-10-1 on the year, ending the season 8-1-1 over the last 10 games.
