Traffic was blocked on northbound I-15 in Davis County on Monday following a rear-end collision that caused one vehicle to roll onto its side, officials said.

The crash occurred around 3:35 p.m. when the driver of a Honda Civic hit the back of a Jeep Liberty near Centerville, causing the Jeep to roll, said Utah Highway Patrol trooper Cameron Roden.

Firefighters who initially responded to the scene blocked off three lanes of traffic but were able to move the car and open the road in about 20 minutes, he said. Roden said the blockage lasted just long enough to "cause some tie ups" on the freeway.

A mother and her two children in the Jeep were transported to a hospital with minor injuries, but it was mostly "precautionary," Roden said.

The driver of the Honda received a traffic citation, he said.
