Great letter about the Yankees last week (Readers' Forum, Nov. 6). When the third baseman is paid more money than one of the Florida team's rosters, something is haywire. I do not remember the salary-cap New Yorkers winning a championship. I remember them purchasing some. One thing I thought was unfair is they could not get the Cardinals' first baseman — after the Cards were eliminated.
