PROVO — A Provo hiker was rescued Sunday when he became stuck on a narrow ledge on Y Mountain and couldn't move.

Samuel Cannon, 24, called for help about 1:40 p.m. when he realized he was stuck, and Provo Police Mountain Rescue located him clinging to the mountain.

About an hour later, rescuers lowered Cannon 30 feet to the base of the cliff, and then helped him off the mountain.

The hiker did not need medical attention.
