Teenager is critical after stabbing in W.V.
WEST VALLEY CITY — A teenager was in critical condition after being stabbed multiple times at Scottsdale Park late Saturday night.
The teen and a friend were skateboarding at the park, 3100 S. Bangerter Highway, when two men in their late teens approached them about 10:30 p.m., said West Valley City Police Lt. Dalan Taylor.
"Some type of conversation took place," Taylor said. "Then one of them just started attacking our victim. He hit him in the back of the head, knocked him to the ground. At one point, one of them had a knife and stabbed our victim multiple times."
The skateboarders managed to run from the park and found a police officer.
The injured teen was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
"They certainly could be (life-threatening injuries) from what I saw," Taylor said. "We're just going to have to wait until we hear back from the hospital."
The victims did not know their attackers, police said.
"We really don't have a lot of information on them," Taylor said.
