NEWARK, N.J. — Katey Turner scored her fifth goal in the last three games as Utah Valley moved into the championship game of the Great West Conference tournament with a 2-0 win over Howard on Saturday.

Camille Broderick also added a goal for the Wolverines (8-10-1), who will face the winner of the Houston Baptist/North Dakota match on Monday at noon.

"It was a great game. Howard's athletic and strong and certainly posed problems for us. We had to work very hard to get those goals," said UVU coach Brent Anderson. "We worked all year to be in the final, and the girls are very excited and hopefully we can carry this momentum into Monday."

The Wolverines had a 23-6 edge in total shots including 8-2 on goal, and had six corner kicks to none for the Bison. Broderick finished with five shots, four on goal to lead UVU. Tasha Bell had two saves and got her third shutout of the season and fifth for the team. Howard (5-11-2) keeper Chanel Bell had six saves. UVU got some insurance in the 76th minute when Broderick rebounded her own shot to give the Wolverines a 2-0 lead with just over 14 minutes left in the game. The physical contest was scoreless for nearly 61 minutes before Nicole Archibald took the ball into the corner and found Turner in front of the goal, who punched it into the right corner for her sixth goal of the season.
