WEST POINT, Davis County — A child was killed when she was run over by a truck in her yard Saturday afternoon.

Grace Hill, 15 months, was playing in her backyard with a group of children as her father, West Point city manager Gary Hill, and a friend were digging a pit for a trampoline, said Davis County Sheriff's Capt. Kenneth Payne.

About 4 p.m., the father's friend left to unload a truckload of dirt and ran over the child, police said.

The friend returned to the home, near 60 N. 1800 West, a few minutes later and found Gary Hill with the child on the ground.

Paramedics arrived at the home but were unable to save the child, police said.

No citations were issued.

"It's just an unfortunate accident," Payne said.
