Alta-Bingham, Mtn. Crest-Timpview highlight semis

When the brackets were first released by the UHSAA, two marquee semifinals games at Rice-Eccles Stadium in 5A and 4A seemed like inevitabilities. Twelve weeks later those pairings were finalized. On Thursday Timpview and Mountain Crest will meet in the 4A semis and on Friday Bingham and Alta square off for the fourth straight year at the U.

Smaller schools in the spotlight

2A, 1A semifinals kick off this morning

The playoffs shift focus to the smaller schools today with the 2A semifinals taking place at SUU and the 1A semifinals going on at Snow College. In 2A, San Juan and South Summit are both favored to advance to next week's championship game, whereas Rich and Duchesne are big favorites in the 1A semifinals.
