WEST VALLEY CITY — The Idaho Steelheads defeated the Utah Grizzlies 7-2 Friday night at the E-Center.
Idaho poured in five power-play goals to abruptly end the Grizzlies' three-game winning streak, in which they had outscored the opposition 20-7. Ryan Kinasewich, the ECHL's leading point- and goal- scorer, scored both Utah goals for his 10th and 11th of the season. He is now within seven points of Chris Taylor to become the all-time leading scorer in the history of the organization.
Dustin Friesen extended his scoring streak to four games with two assists,
while Tim Maxwell became the 16th Utah skater this season to record a point
with a second period assist.
Mitch O'Keefe relieved goaltender Parker Van Buskirk following
Idaho's fifth goal as Utah Head Coach Kevin Colley looked to change
things up.
The Grizzlies now begin a stretch of four-straight games away from the
E-Center; including Saturday night in Idaho. Face-off is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
Utah returns home Saturday, November 14 to host Las Vegas at 7:05 p.m.
