West Bank barrier protested

Palestinian demonstrators throw stones at Israeli soldiers behind barbed wire littered with spent tear-gas canisters Friday. They were protesting the barrier in the West Bank village of Bilin, near Ramallah. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said Thursday he does not want to run for another term in the January elections, blaming a stalemate in Mideast peace talks on Israel and the United States.
