LARAMIE, Wyo. — For BYU's Brett Denney, today's game against Wyoming is a homecoming of sorts. The senior defensive lineman hails from Thornton, Colo., which isn't far from War Memorial Stadium.

"My house is about two hours away from Laramie," Denney said. "It's not a bad trip for my parents."

Denney earned his first start two years ago at Wyoming.

"I was a backup, but I had an opportunity to start that game," he said. "I had a sack and a couple of tackles-for-loss."

BYU players say they know what to expect from the passionate Wyoming supporters.

"Wyoming fans are a little crazy," said defensive lineman Jan Jorgensen. "When I went out there my sophomore year, we were fortunate enough to jump on them quick and not really let the fans get into the football game. Hopefully we can do that again. They love their Cowpokes up there, and they let you know it."

FAN UNREST IN PROVO: While Wyoming fans are known for being hostile, some BYU fans apparently are turning on their own team.

Following the Cougars' 38-7 loss to TCU, defensive coordinator Jaime Hill's house and car were reportedly pelted by eggs, an act presumably done by at least one frustrated Cougar fan.

"It's actually good there was no one in the house around. It could have been ugly," an angry Hill told the Provo Daily Herald. "It's unbelievable. It's not like we're 0-6. We're 6-2 and still have a lot of goals in front of us. Twenty-one years of coaching and I've never seen anything like it."

TRICK OR TREAT: Opponents love to run trick plays against BYU.

BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall is expecting more of the same today against Wyoming, and his team has been preparing for that this week in practice.

"You have to," he said. "We've been a target for a long time. We try to prepare some every week to make us aware of them."
