Reform would cut costs

Not only is it difficult for many people to acquire health insurance, but even those with coverage are seeing costs rise. Insurance companies are taking advantage because they have the power to set their own prices and have little incentive to keep insurance rates low. Our government is spending billions of dollars in Iraq and Afghanistan instead of spending it here at home.

I like President Barack Obama's plan for health care: "Quality, affordable choices for all Americans." Government involvement in a new insurance market place would result in low-cost coverage for individuals and small businesses. I urge the Congress and Senate to pass health-care reform.
