Women's group to mark community day
Christ Women United In Utah will celebrate World Community Day in November.
The Ogden area unit will gather today, 9:30 a.m., at the First Baptist Church, 2519 Jefferson Ave.
Villa luncheon titled 'South Seas Fantasy'
The Christus St. Joseph Villa volunteers will host their annual luncheon, "South Seas Fantasy," today, 11:30 a.m., in the St. Ann Recreation Center, 430 S. 2100 East.
It will be a fun-filled afternoon with delicious food, door prizes, a bake sale, jewelry sale and more.

Aglow speaker to talk on conversion
Aglow International of Salt Lake will present Emilio Marchany talking about "Conversion" today, 9:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. at the Cushing Seniors Heritage Center, 10 E. 6150 South, Murray. The cost is $5 for a continental breakfast.

Services to focus on stewardship
Cottonwood Heights Presbyterian Church, 1580 E. Vine St., will focus on stewardship commitment at its Sunday, Nov. 8, services, at both 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.
The service is part of a series on "Sunday in Ordinary Time."

NPR host to lecture in S.L. on Nov. 10
"Religion, Media and Public Life in the 21st Century" will be addressed by Krista Tippett, host of National Public Radio's "Speaking of Faith," on Tuesday, Nov. 10. 7 p.m., at the Salt Lake City Library Auditorium, 210 E. 400 South.
This is free and open to the public.
Unitarian pastor to speak on veterans
The First Unitarian Church, 569 S. 1300 East, will include "Veterans of War: A Mediation," by the Rev. Tom Goldsmith, on Sunday, Nov. 8, in both the 9 and 11 a.m. sermons.

Catholic radio to give service awards
Immaculate Heart Radio is "Sharing the Hope" with Salt Lake City this fall.
On Nov. 10 at The Red Lion Inn, Immaculate Heart Radio President Douglas Sherman will present the Spirit of Service Award to three local AM 1010 KIHU supporters who exemplify the ideals of charity and dedication.
The evening's lineup includes a special guest appearance by Patrick Madrid, a well-known Catholic speaker, author, publisher and host of EWTN's "Open Line" program.

Episcopal church to institute new rector
Bishop Carolyn Irish will institute Lyn Briggs as Centerville's Episcopal Church of the Resurrection's new rector on Thursday, November 12, 7 p.m., at the church, 1131 S. Main, Centerville.
The service will involve a variety of people from the parish and the diocese in symbolically offering Lyn gifts that represent her authority as rector.
