The American West Heritage Center, a nonprofit organization in Wellsville, is issuing a call for entries for its 4th annual March of the Socks Christmas Stocking Exhibit and Auction.

The event features Christmas stockings that have been painted, welded, carved, sewn, quilted, sculpted and otherwise creatively crafted.

The socks will be displayed in December and then auctioned off to raise funds for the center's Artists & Exhibits program and to help maintain its historical quilt collection.

Any artists young or old are invited to submit stockings; they can be made from scratch or you can request a blank canvas stocking by contacting David Sidwell at dsidwell@awhc.org or 435-764-2006.

This will be a juried event, with a $100 prize for the winner. There is no entrance fee, but the deadline for finished stockings is Nov. 30.
