High temperatures break 8 records
Eight high temperature records were set in Utah on Thursday as unseasonably warm air dominated the north.
The Salt Lake International Airport reached 75 degrees, breaking by one degree the record for Nov. 5, set in 1999.
The other records were: Tooele 75 degrees; Provo-BYU 76; Pleasant Grove 74; Delta 78; Alpine 72; Brigham City 71; and Laketown 68.
The 75-degree reading in Salt Lake City also tied the all-time high temperature for any November day.
In addition, Alta set a record-high minimum (overnight) temperature record on Nov. 5, with 42 degrees. That eclipsed the record of 40 degrees set in 2001.
After another day in the low 70s Friday, temperatures are expected to cool to 59 degrees Saturday, under partly cloudy skies. There's a 20 percent chance of rain Saturday night and Sunday.
Tuesday also has a chance of showers, according to the National Weather Service.
The big change is expected to come Wednesday, when there's also a chance of snow.
The snow level will drop to 4,800 feet by Thursday, under cloudy skies and with a daytime high of only 46 degrees.
