Man charged after fight using bat, knife

A man was charged with aggravated burglary and aggravated assault after a fight in which a baseball bat and knife were wielded.

Neil Evan Hall, 30, was invited into a home while intoxicated, but when he became belligerent, the group asked and then told him to leave, according to charging documents filed in the 3rd District Court on Thursday.

Records state Hall was forced outside, only to return to beat on the door. He then allegedly tried to kick open the door, while threatening members of the group with a knife.

One of the people being threatened finally grabbed a baseball bat and scared him off, court records state.

A police detective said Hall claimed he was chased down from behind by the man with a baseball bat, but the his injury and a blood trail from the residence indicate a different story.

Besides aggravated burglary and aggravated assault, Hall was charged with public intoxication and being a restricted person with a weapon, court records state.

Bail was set at $50,000.
