ST. GEORGE — SkyWest Inc. saw its net income rise during the third quarter despite lower revenues, the company said Thursday.

Last quarter, the regional airline reported a net income of $28.6 million, or 50 cents per diluted share, compared to $26.2 million, or 45 cents per share, for the same quarter last year.

Revenues decreased to $637.8 million for the quarter ending Sept. 30, compared to $934.1 million a year earlier. Operating revenues decreased primarily because fuel cost reimbursements from SkyWest's partners decreased.

The earnings report was released Thursday before markets closed.

SkyWest shares closed Thursday at $14.69, up 68 cents. Shares have ranged between $8.17 and $19.25 over the past year.

SkyWest Inc. owns SkyWest Airlines and Atlantic Southeast Airlines Inc.
