The Salvation Army will hold its "Need Knows No Season" seventh annual Red Kettle kickoff Monday, Nov. 9, in Salt Lake City and Tuesday, Nov. 10, in Ogden.

The Salt Lake event is sponsored by KeyBank, Chevron and EnergySolutions Arena to raise funds for the programs and services offered by the Salvation Army. Programs include the KUTV 2News/Salvation Army Angel Tree, which provides gifts for children and seniors; Thanksgiving dinners; the Community Dining Room; emergency disaster relief and family services. These programs help to provide services to the hungry, the homeless and others in need.

In Salt Lake City, a dinner at EnergySolutions Arena at 6 p.m. will offer guests a meal typical of those served to more than 500 needy people each evening at the Salvation Army Community Dining Room.

In Ogden, a lunch and program will be held at St. Joseph Catholic High School at 11:30 a.m.

More than 2,500 families and 6,000 individuals in Salt Lake City and 1,500 families and 4,000 individuals in Ogden will receive gifts and supplies for the Christmas holiday.
