TAYLORSVILLE — A 53-year-old man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a shooting range Wednesday.

Police received a call about 5 p.m. that a man had been shot. When they arrived on the scene, they found the victim dead on a range at Doug's Shoot'n Sports, 4926 S. Redwood Road.

Other people were on the range with the man, but Taylorsville Police Sgt. John Cooper said he doesn't believe anyone witnessed the shooting.

Officers are investigating the incident.

The man's identity was not released Wednesday, pending notification of family members.
