It's been several months since the Cash for Clunkers government-handout program ended. Even though I had two vehicles that qualified, I didn't want to incur more debt with a new car loan. To have the government classify the car I'm driving now as a clunker is highly offensive. The government owes me and many others an apology. Now, when many of us drive our clunkers down the road, we see other drivers point, laugh and stare. I'm embarrassed driving now and try to keep my car parked in the closed garage.
The Obama administration must do something. Maybe it should provide counseling.
By the way, I just read that each clunker turned in cost taxpayers $24,000 each.
