Veterans swing band plays Monday in Salt Lake
The Phoenix Swing Band, composed mostly of World War II veterans, will perform Monday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m., at the Salt Lake City Library, 210 E. 400 South, as part of the monthly World War II series.
The band will play music from the big-band era of the 1940s. Intermission will feature a tribute to the 53 men and women with Utah ties who have died in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Their names will be announced by World War II veterans.
