UTAH STATE PRISON — A section of the Utah State Prison was on lockdown following a fistfight among several prisoners Tuesday night.

The fight involving about five people broke out in a common area in the Baker Block area of the prison, which was put on lockdown, prison spokesman Steve Gehrke said.

Two people were taken to the prison infirmary for a check-up but there were no serious injuries, Gehrke said.

Prison officials will review video footage in a follow-up investigation, but Gehrke said they don't know what caused the scuffle.

The area was expected to remain on lockdown through the night.
