Fun run Nov. 14 to benefit needy during holidays

RIVERTON — Join the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office Riverton Precinct on Nov. 14 for the Holiday Heroes 5K/1 mile run/walk.

Local walkers and runners can bring food and items for those in need. Participants are asked to bring non-perishable food items and new, unwrapped clothing and gifts. Donations will be distributed to local families in need during the holidays.

Pre-registration is $10 and includes a T-shirt. The cost to register is $15 after Nov. 4 and day of race with a T-shirt and $5 without a T-shirt anytime. Register at Riverton Recreation by today. No individual times or awards will be given, as the race is a fun run.

The race will begin at 10 a.m. at the Dr. O. Roi Hardy Park,12400 S. 1000 West. Check-in and day-of-race registration will run from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
