Cyprus High not old
I agree with Hyrum Stanford (Readers' Forum, Oct. 29) and Gary Swensen (Readers' Forum, Nov. 2) on the need to be mindful of preservation of historical buildings. Unfortunately, Mr. Swensen chose a rather odd example of oldest high schools. Cyprus High might have started operation as a school in 1918 and is still a functioning high school, but the original building was found to be sinking in 1981 and, after my graduating class in 1982, it was torn down and an entirely new building constructed in its place.
