DYLAN CHYNOWETH, Park City, football

Already one of the toughest players in the state to tackle, Chynoweth's coach said he's simply been getting better and better as the season has neared the playoffs.

In last Friday's 50-20 Park City victory over Grantsville in the first round of the 3A state tournament, Chynoweth racked up 133 yards and four touchdowns on just 13 carries.

Heading into Friday's quarterfinals against Delta, Chynoweth leads the state with 1,844 rushing yards and 30 rushing touchdowns. His yards per carry this season is a staggering 13.3.

In his four-year career he's now rushed for over 3,500 yards and 49 touchdowns.

NAMOONGA KWENDAKWEMA, Rowland Hall, volleyball

Known by her teammates as "Bones" this senior middle blocker is more of a wall when it comes to volleyball.

"As one of our captains she is invaluable on the floor," said Winged Lions head coach Kendra Tomsic. "She has really come into her own this season, becoming a dominant force at the net as a powerful hitter and blocker, who can also pass and did."

Kwendakwema earned 25 blocks and 10 kills in a match against South Summit and 19 blocks against Maeser Prep.

"Though very competitive, she keeps things in perspective," said Tomsic. "She is always upbeat and plays with joy, passion and humility."
