I read about further experiments into copper-coated surfaces — especially on door handles and bathroom fixtures. They are being coated with a copper alloy film which can significantly reduce the spread of infectious diseases, including H1N1.

The health benefits from copper have been known for centuries.

It may not be cheap, but it would be money well-spent if used in schools, banks, churches and other buildings where large numbers of people gather.
