Now is the time to drop the word "feminism" from our vocabulary. It is not, as Ellen Goodman stated, a "crucial component in the pursuit of happiness" anymore (Oct. 30). It is obsolete! It is as divisive as other tags — racial, religious or otherwise. I suggest "personism" as a new word for everyone's use. Are we not individuals, each deserving freedom to believe, speak and act as long as we do not infringe on others? We would no longer need look at people categorically but be free to judge on choice and character. Wouldn't that be refreshing?
