WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: The Griffins had their perfect home record snapped with a 3-0 loss against No. 24 Lewis-Clark State on Friday night in the Behnken Field House. Westminster dropped both matches against LC State this season after tonight=E2=80=99s 25-16, 25-20, 25-21 loss. Westminster falls to 9-17 on the season and 6-6 in the Frontier Conference.

Ericka Evans and Talita Kresser each recorded eight kills in the match, with Evans hitting .143 and adding 14 digs. Beck Burke and Katy Waldie recorded four kills apiece. Tahnie Blymiller finished with 17 digs and setter Megan Evans dished out 16 assists.

Demi Dlouhy led LC State with 13 kills and hit .765 (13-0-17) in the match. Dana Christiansen posted nine kills and two blocks while libero Katie Hinrichs snagged 17 digs.

Westminster returns to action on Thursday when they host Carroll College at 7 p.m. in the Behnken Field House.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: At Scotts Valley, Calif., behind the perfect shooting night of Michelle Pace, the Westminster women's basketball team cruised to a 100-46 win over Bethany (Calif.) on Saturday evening. Westminster shot 53.6% from the floor and won a ninth consecutive road game dating back to last season. The win improves the Griffins to 2-0 on the young season while Bethany falls to 0-1.

Westminster connected on 15 attempts from beyond the arc and shot 44.1% from the distance. They forced Bethany into 24 turnovers and recorded a 49-18 rebounding advantage. The Griffins put five players in double figures in scoring one night after putting six players in double figures.

Pace led the team with 16 points on 8-of-8 shooting and collected seven rebounds. Keshia Catten added 14 points, seven assists, and three makes from distance. Heather Anderson had 13 points to help the Griffins to a 44-17 advantage in bench scoring. Angela Fales grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds and Nicole Yazzi dished out eight assists.

Next up for Westminster is a trip to Provo, Utah for an exhibition game with Brigham Young on Friday.
