WOMEN'S SOCCER: Kicking off a final four match stretch at home, the Dixie State (12-3, 11-0) is in the proverbial driver's seat journeying toward a Pacific West Conference championship. Win two of the four contests and wrap up the title. Friday night at Hansen Stadium, the Red Storm completed half the task with a 4-0 win over visiting Grand Canyon in St. George.

Dixie State (12-3, 11-0 PW) outshot the Antelopes 20-9 and arguably played their best 45 minutes of soccer this season in the second half. Grand Canyon (7-8-2, 4-5-2 PW) dropped below .500 in the conference with their second defeat to DSC this season.

Wendy Stratford scored a pair of goals including the game-winner in the 50th minute on a crossing header. Her second goal came in the 81st minute on a right-side cross from Shannon Larsen.

Erin Beeston — on a breakaway — and Camille Peterson — on another Larsen crossing pass – scored the other Red Storm goals in the second half.

Larsen helped on all four Dixie State goals for a season high in assists.

Goalkeeper Tonya Smith made four saves on the nine Grand Canyon shots on the night.

Dixie State continues their quest for the Pac West title on Tuesday afternoon against Dominican University. Kickoff at Hansen Stadium is at 4:30 p.m.

MEN' SOCCER: Grand Canyon defeated the Red Storm 3-0 on a chilly Friday evening at Hansen Stadium. The Antelopes took an early lead when in the 2nd minute Kyle Ciliento found Tom Hurdle and the seventh minute Pat Perkins passed to Nathan Wasson who found Kyle Ciliento to jump out to an early 2-0 margin. GCU never looked back from there. They were able to add the final goal of the match in the 31st minute when Nick Sykes scored off a shot that was blocked on a corner kick.

For the third time in as many games the Red Storm were shutout. Only being able to manage three shots on goal.

Tyler McAninch played the whole match allowing three goals and capturing one save.

The Antelopes out shot DSC 16-7 and dominated the Red Storm from the onset. With the victory Grand Canyon improved to 12-3-2 overall and 9-1-1 in PacWest play.

Dixie State drops to 5-9-1 overall and 3-8 in PacWest play. The Red Storm will be in action on Tuesday evening when they play host to Dominican University 7 p.m. at Hansen Stadium.
