NORTH SALT LAKE — Interstate 15 will close in both directions overnight Friday and most of Saturday between I-80 and I-215 to replace a bridge.
The Utah Department of Transportation announced it will close the freeway from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Saturday to replace the second half of the U.S. 89 bridge. Southbound U.S. 89 in North Salt Lake and the 600 North on-ramp to northbound I-15 will also be closed, officials said in a press release.
Drivers will be able to use Legacy Parkway, I-215 to I-80 or Beck Street as alternate routes.
UDOT officials said they're using an accelerated bridge construction process to finish the project in a day versus 6-9 months.
