Ballam to present Utah's opera history

Michael Ballam, operatic performer and Utah State University music professor, will speak about the history of opera in Utah on Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. at Weber State University's Hurst Center for Lifelong Learning.

A native of Logan, Ballam's career in opera and recital has spanned four decades and six continents. He has performed in major concert halls throughout the world, as well as at the Vatican and the White House.

Ballam's presentation in Ogden is the annual Critchlow Lecture and part of the university's history lecture series. It is free and open to the public. More information can be found online at www.weber.edu/history.
