I write to express my disappointment in Sen. Orrin Hatch, who last week voted for a hate-crimes bill in the Senate. In my view, such legislation criminalizes thought, endangers freedom of speech and destroys the American principle of equality under the law.
I also noticed that Sen. Bob Bennett voted against the same bill. Thank you, Sen. Bennett.
