THE STAKES

For TCU ... The undefeated Horned Frogs are chasing an MWC title and a Bowl Championship Series berth. A loss would all but dash their BCS hopes.

For BYU ... The Cougars are looking to redeem themselves after last season's 32-7 meltdown in Fort Worth and record their second victory over a top 10 team this season. Also on the line — a shot at winning the MWC championship.

THE TRENDS

For TCU ... The Horned Frogs have won eight consecutive games, dating back to last season.

For BYU ... The Cougars have won 13 straight Mountain West Conference home games.

THE EDGE

TCU will win if ... the defense can smother BYU's offense like it did last season by sacking Max Hall and forcing turnovers; and return specialist Jeremy Kerley makes big plays against BYU's defense and special teams.

BYU will win if ... the offense avoids turnovers and is effective; the defense can force TCU quarterback Andy Dalton into making mistakes.

PLAYER TO WATCH

Max Hall, BYU QB: Hall has played well the last two weeks. But he'll face a difficult test this week against TCU's stifling defense. For the Cougars to have a chance to knock off the Frogs, Hall will need to play his best game of the season.

KEY MATCHUP

BYU's offensive line vs. TCU's defensive line: Horned Frog D-lineman Jerry Hughes is a one-man wrecking crew and is among the nation's leaders in sacks. BYU's O-line, and running backs, will need to protect Hall and keep Hughes from disrupting the offensive game plan.

INJURY REPORT

TCU: Nothing significant.

BYU: Wide receiver McKay Jacobson (hamstring) is "possible;" it's a game-day decision.

NEXT UP

BYU has a bye next week before traveling to Wyoming on Nov. 7 (12 p.m., The mtn.)
