WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: After going undefeated in their first three Great West Conference road games, the Wolverines come home for their final three conference matches beginning today at 4 p.m. against North Dakota.

The Wolverines (3-10-1, 2-0-1) also host Houston Baptist on Monday before capping the regular season next Thursday, on Senior Day, against South Dakota.

Today's match begins Utah Valley's "Pink With A Purpose" weekend. The UVU soccer and volleyball programs, with help from the Second Chance Foundation of Utah and major sponsors Centennial Bank and Super 8-Provo, will be raising money today and Oct. 26 for Hannah Laursen, a 9-year-old girl who has been diagnosed with brain cancer.

The first 250 fans to the game get a free T-shirt and anyone who wears pink or shaves their head will get in for free. There will also be a chance for fans to donate to Hannah and her family at the game as well as purchase tickets to Monday's benefit concert featuring Dishwalla lead-singer J.R. Richards. The acoustic show begins Monday at 7 p.m. in the UVU Grande Ballroom. Tickets for the show can also be purchased at Smith's Tix or at the McKay Center ticket office.

A Wolverine win today against the Fighting Sioux (1-10-2, 0-3-1) would put UVU in the driver's seat for the top seed in the GWC West division. Regardless, the Wolverines control their own destiny in the race for the no. 1 spot.

North Dakota is coming off a 1-1 tie at Houston Baptist in a game that could have a great impact on that top western seed in November's conference tournament in Newark, N.J.

The Wolverines defeated UND on Oct. 9 after scoring a season-high four goals in a 4-1 win. Four different UVU players scored in the game, with Camille Broderick scoring what turned out to be the game-winner while assisting on a Nicole Archibald goal. Broderick, who also scored in a 3-0 shutout of South Dakota two days later, earned the Great West Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 12.

Houston Baptist, which faces Big 12 Baylor on Friday, owns the highest NCAA RPI (263) among the eight Great West soccer teams and is 12 RPI spots in front of Utah Valley.
