It's a funny picture: Brent Smith, a burly young man somewhere in his 20s or early 30s, is sitting in Nintendo's RV in a downtown Salt Lake parking lot, selecting the jacket and skirt he thinks will appeal to the customer of his virtual boutique. His brow is furrowed and he flicks through a couple of options before selecting a denim-and-purple combo.

He's playing Style Savvy, due out for the DS Nov. 2. And the oddness of the scene doesn't escape him, either. "It's a girls game with surprising depth and I got into it," he admits.

In the game, you're the owner of a virtual boutique and you have to listen to your customers and look at what they're wearing and hopefully help them find items they like so they'll keep coming to your store. There are monetary prizes and fashion shows and you can manage your inventory. If you have friends with the game, you can even go DS to DS and visit each other's store. And it's not just fashion. Think hair and accessories. Smith says he likes managing his own business.

Welcome to Nintendo's traveling road show as the company previews its newest offerings in various cities just in time for holiday gift giving. This year's tour includes games for the Wii console, like New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Wii Sports Resort and Wii Fit Plus; and games available on either DS or DSi systems: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky, Style Savvy, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks and the just-out Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.

They're also showing new colors for the Nintento DSi. White and pink versions came out in September, joining the existing blue and black ones. And just in time for the holidays, you'll be able to buy a black Wii Remote controller or a black Nunchuk controller.

The New Super Mario Bros. for Wii is not in final form; it will be out just before Thanksgiving. It's a classic Mario game, except up to four people can play at once, either cooperatively — sharing points to achieve objectives — or competitively, "everyone for himself."

The action includes use of a penguin suit and a propeller suit. And if you turn the Wii Remote sideways, it behaves and feels just like the regular controller that Super Mario fans are used to on other Nintendo gaming consoles.

Zelda: Spirit Tracks picks up where the last Zelda DS game left off. In this one, you control with a stylus both the main and a handy little phantom you found in the dungeon. He can go places the human character cannot, like through fire. He's particularly handy when you're trying to cross hot lava.
