LEHI — A Monday rollover sent two people to the hospital, one in critical condition, officials said.
Benny Gardner, 37, of West Valley City was driving south on I-15 near Lehi when the sport-utility vehicle he was driving drifted off to the right shoulder of the roadway about 5:30 a.m., said Utah Highway Patrol trooper Cameron Roden. He said when Gardner attempted to correct his path, the vehicle rolled 2 1/2 times.
Gardner was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and was ejected from the vehicle. A passenger, a 37-year-old woman from Orem, remained in the vehicle and sustained minor injuries. Gardner was transported to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center by medical helicopter in critical condition.
Roden said the UHP believes alcohol may have been a factor.
