Top passing performance
Tom Brady, Patriots
Gisele Bundchin's husband set an NFL record by passing for five touchdowns — in the second quarter — and had six touchdown throws overall as New England crushed Tennessee 59-0 to keep the Titans winless this season.
Top rushing performance
Thomas Jones, Jets
Had a breakout game and set a franchise-record 210 yards rushing as New York piled up 318 on the ground. Alas, it was not enough as six Jets interceptions resulted in an ugly 16-13 overtime loss to the punchless Buffalo Bills Sunday afternoon.
Top receiving performance
Larry Fitzgerald, Cardinals
Grabbed a career-high 13 receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown as Arizona clobbered the injury-plagued Seattle Seahawks 27-3 as Kurt Warner reached the 30,000 passing yard plateau faster than any other quarterback.
Monday Night Football
Broncos at Chargers, 6:30 p.m., ESPN
This was supposed to be San Diego's division, but the surprising Broncos have used a stellar defense to storm out to an undefeated start through five games. A Chargers win would make the division a lot more competitive, while the Broncos might be able to take an almost-unsurmountable lead in the AFC West with another win.
Quote of the week
Kerry Collins, Titans
"It's about as bad as it gets. Period. The end." — after Tennessee lost 59-0 and the Titans QBs combined for minus-7 yards passing.
Notable performance
Ryan Succop, Chiefs
Sure, the Kansas City offense is terrible, but Mr. Irrelevant — the last player selected in the 2009 NFL Draft — proved himself worthy of the pick as the Chiefs kicker kicked four field goals, all of the Kansas City offensive points. His 46-yarder with 3:36 to play proved to be the game winning points in a 14-6 victory over the Washington Redskins.
